To help promote the scheme it has been renamed as the “Waveney
Sunrise Scheme”. This compliments the vision of bringing
a new dawn to the Lowestoft area of Waveney, which over recent
years has proudly been promoted as the “Sunrise Coast”.
Two concept designs areas cover the Town Centre situated
in North Lowestoft (W S Atkins design) and the South of Lowestoft,
including the Seafront Area, (The Landscape Partnership (TLP)
design). These concept designs provide the basis for over
fifty capital projects to be completed within a four-year
period commencing 01/01/2003.
The capital projects include a contributory grant scheme
to support improvement of premises. A series of revenue projects
to promote business and tourism will be headed up by the Town
Manager initiative.
