It is inevitable that a strategic project of this size will
report to a number of committees as part of the decision-making/process.
The Waveney Local Government Partnership (which was set up
to guide the District’s overall regeneration policy
and programme, in partnership with Suffolk County Council)
will receive regular progress reports as a standing item and
is expected to lead on the capital infrastructure aspects
of the project.
The Waveney Economic Partnership (WEP) was set up to engage
the business community and support agencies together with
District, County and other agencies in achieving economic
regeneration. This group will receive regular progress reports
as a standing item and is expected to lead on the business
promotion initiatives (including Town Manager). EEDA attend
the meetings of WEP and will also receive quarterly monitoring
reports as part of the claims process.
Neither of the above Partnerships has executive powers so
spending and other decisions would come to the Waveney District
Council Executive committee (and its equivalent at Suffolk
County Council) for approval. An officer steering group for
the scheme has also been set up which will report to the committees
and Partnerships referred to above.
