Exit Strategy

As accountable body for the scheme the District Council in partnership with Suffolk County Council will undertake financial management. Normal local authority accounting and audit procedures will be applied. Waveney’s Executive committee has approved a report detailing the financial responsibilities and risks associated with the scheme and a draft version of this delivery plan. All project phases where EEDA is contributing over £250,000 will be subject to a full appraisal and approval by EEDA.

As our partners at Suffolk County Council are undertaking much of the project expenditure, a detailed partnering agreement outlining the arrangements for delivery of works and associated transfers of external grant monies will be entered into.

The Chamber of Commerce are also party to this agreement, as they will assist in delivering part of the town manager initiative, provide office space and support (part time) for the town manager and will be responsible for continuing the initiative after 3 years (using income raised, sponsorship and subscriptions).
